Free support for your charity or non-profit
I offer a limited amount of free UX and service design support to small charities, community organisations and non-profits.
If your website, forms or internal processes feel confusing, clunky or harder than they should be, I can probably help you make them clearer and easier to use.
For small charities and non-profits
This is aimed at charitable organisations and non-profits that are doing important work but have limited time, budget or specialist design resource.
You do not need to know any design jargon.
If something isn't working well for the people using your service, or your staff are spending too much time on manual admin, that's enough.
Common problems I can help you fix
- people struggle to find the right information on your website
- a form or sign-up journey is harder to complete than it should be
- your donation, contact or referral process feels confusing
- volunteers or staff are spending too much time on manual admin
- a service or workflow has become messy over time
- you know something is not working but have not had time to step back and fix it
What you get from this support
I keep this support small, focused and practical. Depending on your situation, that might include:
- a quick review of a website page, form or key user journey
- helping you make sense of a service problem and where to start
- mapping a process so everyone can see what is happening and where it breaks
- simplifying a form, message or communication flow
- a short, prioritised set of recommendations you can act on
No big consultancy process. Just practical help and advice you can use straight away.
How to get support:
- Send me a short message about your organisation and the issue you want to improve.
- If it looks like a good fit, I will suggest a simple next step.
- I will share practical feedback you can use straight away.
Why work with me
In my day job, I help national and government organisations improve complex public and digital services.
That usually means understanding where people get stuck, untangling messy processes, improving journeys and communications, and helping teams focus on changes that make a real difference.
I've worked with the likes of Sainsbury's, the Home Office, the Department for Education, npower, and many more.
Questions you might have
Is this genuinely free support?
Yes. I offer a limited amount of free support, so I focus on requests where I can make a practical difference quickly.
Do we need design knowledge before contacting you?
No. You can describe the problem in plain English and I will meet you where you are.
Can you help with a full website redesign?
This offer is intentionally small, so it is best suited to focused problems rather than full redesign projects.
Do you only support local or UK organisations?
I prioritise local and UK organisations, but if your work aligns and the problem is a good fit, feel free to get in touch.
Tell me what you need help with
You can find my email address on the contact page.
